The challenge

With great passion, the two founders of ACMmetri designed a high-end clothing line for East Africa. The intention was that this unique and innovative clothing line would be produced and presented between 2022 - 2023. Unfortunately, the brand did not yet have a corporate identity and website, which is why the founders came to us with the question:

β€œCan you come up with a visual identity for our brand and design a website/webshop for ACMmetri?”

What did we do?

Visual identity development, logo & corporate identity, style guide and website development

The dream team

Thom Peet (visual identity) and Maarten de Vries (logo and website development)

Getting started

In the first meeting, the two founders presented all the information available from the brand. With a number of critical questions, we were able to quickly find out what essential information was still missing and what the 'scope' of the project was going to be.

After our first conversation, we started the following process together with the founders:

Corporate identity:
  1. Logo & corporate identity
  2. Style guide
Website:
  1. Website development

Logo & corporate identity

Based on a thorough style research, we collected various inspiration materials such as: images, texts, shapes and colors. We presented these elements in a mood board with our plan for developing the style. *

After presenting style, the founders gave us a new challenge: They were looking for an element/story that could challenge a small part of the audience with secret messages in various communications. And that's how - after a small brainstorm with the founders - we came up with the idea to use Morse code for this.

Using morse code, the brand can hide secret messages, jokes and even win-wins in its communications and invite visitors on a true adventure. In addition to being a great way to challenge the public to explore, Morse code's style elements are ideal for the brand's corporate identity and asymmetric character. For example, the circles, squares and rectangles formed interesting layouts and frames to play with.

We then nicely summarized all the above ideas, elements, shapes, colors and layouts in a style guide.

Website development

After presenting a clear navigation structure, we were able to start designing the website. For example, we made a sketch of the homepage so that the founders of ACMmetri got a clear picture of what the website could look like. After approval of this sketch, the development of the website could begin.

After a few weeks of hard work, the website was ready and we were proud to put it β€œlive”. NICE! * πŸ‘

The bros have created a unique corporate identity that 100% matches our goals and exceeded all our expectations with a sleek webshop. THANK YOU SO MUCH Thom and Maarten!

Results that we have achieved

A unique corporate identity with asymmetric shapes

In addition to interesting asymmetric shapes and a cool color palette, ACMmetri also has a mysterious underlying concept: Hidden messages in Morse code. πŸ†˜

A fully responsive website with a webshop

A fully integrated webshop, with an extensive CMS system, product filtering system and PayPay + M-Pesa connection for African payments. πŸ’³
